2024 Mid-Michigan Symposium for Undergraduate Research Experiences (Mid-SURE)
The 14th annual Mid-SURE will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at the STEM Teaching and Learning Facility and online at Symposium by ForagerOne. Priority Registration will open on May 28 and close on June 17, 2024.
Mid-SURE 2024 will be a hybrid event with both in-person and virtual poster presentations, held on July 24 from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.

MSU undergraduate researchers, visiting students participating in research at MSU, and students from other institutions in Michigan are eligible to present at Mid-SURE. Current MSU students and December 2023 and May 2024 graduates are also eligible to present at Mid-SURE. Incoming MSU students (first year or transfer) who complete New Student Orientation (NSO) before July 24 may participate as well. This event provides an opportunity for students involved in research and creative activities at Michigan State and select institutions to share their work with their peers and the MSU community.

Save a presentation slot during Priority Registration! Category and modality choices are limited after Priority Registration closes. Abstracts/Proposals do not need to be complete at the time of registration. Final edits to MidSURE registrations are due TBD.
Eligible Presenters:
- Current MSU undergraduates
- MSU December 2023 and April 2024 graduates
- Visiting undergraduate students participating in summer research programs
- Undergraduate researchers from other Michigan institutions
- High School students participating in MSU sponsored research programs
Types of research and creative activity accepted:
- Preliminary
- In Progress
- Completed Projects
- Course-based Research
- Internship/REU
- Education Abroad
- Community-based Participatory Research
- Work conducted during any semester (fall, spring, summer) or over multiple semesters
- Presented at other venues (college/department forums, off-campus conferences, etc.)
- Any other types that we missed on this list!

What to Expect at MidSURE
There is a great deal of activity happening throughout the event. An information desk is located on the first floor and is a good resource for answering questions during the in-person event. If you have technical issues related to the online event site, please use the chat box. For online presentation related questions, contact the Undergraduate Research Office.
Tranquility Room
A tranquility room will be available at any time during MidSURE for attendees to pray, meditate, or find a quiet place away from the flurry of activity during the event.
